The Marquette High School Hilltoppers showcased their rugby prowess in a convincing victory over Father Ryan at St. Louis University HS on March 23. The final score of 50-10 underlined the Marquette's commanding form in the Boys High School rugby competition.

The clear, sunny, yet cold weather set the stage for a fierce showdown where both teams displayed their skill and determination.

From the outset, the Hilltoppers set the pace with a relentless offense that put Father Ryan on the back foot. The halftime break saw the Marquette team leading 33-0, powered by three early tries in the first half that signaled Marquette's physical power.

Ultimately, the Hilltoppers not only maintained their momentum but also defended their lead, wrapping up the tournament game with a solid 50-10 victory. Key contributors to the win included try scorers Nate Schramm, Bennett Singer, Josh Necker, Jude Bellinger, Jayden Costello, Evan Maier, Nick Womack, and Carson Tappe. It was Sam Becker who converted 5 of those tries and the flyhalf was also exceptional in running the attack and testing the Irish High defense.

For Father Ryan, Thomas Hebert and Sawyer Rutherford scored tries as Irish High didn't back down and found a couple of chances later—one from a very heads-up lineout play. Marquette's center pairing of Evan Maier and CJ Roeder consistently caused problems forFather Ryan, contributing to the Hilltoppers' comprehensive victory.
